About the seminar: Shéri Brynard presents her personal history as a young woman growing up with Down Syndrome in South Africa, and the preconceptions about her condition that she has continued to challenge throughout both her education and career.

About the speaker: Shéri Brynard is an International Downs Syndrome advocate from South Africa. Shéri was the first person with Down Syndrome in South Africa to qualify with a diploma in Education, and works as an Assistant Teacher at Lettie Fouché School for Learners with Special Education Needs alongside her advocacy work. She is committed to breaking down the stigma and barriers faced by people living with Down Syndrome and intellectual impairments.
